Numerology in movies: 10 movies about numbers

Fatal, happy, sacred… The magic of numbers has been attracting mankind for thousands of years. Each generation tries to find a connection between mathematical symbols and natural phenomena or signs of fate. We use numbers to count money and time, forecasts and number objects. And directors in films about numbers demonstrate their hidden power that can drive you crazy or glorify the whole world.

Theorem Zero (2013)

Computer genius Cohen Leth spent most of his life waiting for a call from the Almighty. The man is afraid to miss a communication session, so he asks his superiors to allow him to work at home. The leadership agrees if Cohen proves the most difficult Zero theorem, over which the best scientific minds are struggling to no avail. Let accepts the conditions, not suspecting that the task is a trick.

An American film about numbers is a remake of the sensational French thriller about playing a kind of Russian roulette. Financial problems push electrician Vince to a reckless act. A man learns about an underground tote of criminal gangs and decides to impersonate one of the participants. Vince is assigned the number 13, given a gun – and the lucky one stays alive. It suddenly turns out that you need to go through several circles, and victory does not guarantee a win.

Fatal Number 23 (2006)

The next in the list of the best is a thriller with favorable reviews from the audience, although they did not expect to see the famous comedian in an unusual role, but were not disappointed by this experiment. A modest family man, Walter, receives a book as a birthday present from his wife. Reading a novel horrifies a man from the first pages. The life of the protagonist completely repeats the events from the past of Walter himself, and a brutal murder becomes a shocking denouement. The man is trying by any means to change the future and prevent the tragedy, but for this he will have to unravel the mystery of the fateful number.
