10 films about robots that are not alien to humanity

From the realm of fiction, robots migrate to reality – and no one will be surprised by an automatic vacuum cleaner or a sociable voice assistant. But on the screen, we are often portrayed with gloomy pictures of the future with androids ready to chop humanity into cabbage. We have made a selection of science fiction films where artificial intelligence has empathy and is tuned to contact with people.

A Robot Called Chappie (2015)

The Johannesburg police have overcome street crime thanks to invulnerable assistants. Androids are able to independently determine the threat and respond adequately to it, but the developer of the program, Deon, decides to go further. The guy wants to create an artificial mind with emotions and a full-fledged consciousness, but the management does not support the idea. Then Deon steals the decommissioned device for the experiment, but he himself becomes a victim of the kidnappers . Being a hostage , he completes his work – and the criminals get an android with the strength of a hero and the development of a 5-year-old child.

Leading corporation designer Dr. Lanning commits suicide, but evidence points to machine interference. The investigation leads to the robot Sunny, who can make independent decisions, ignoring the orders of people. Del intends to split the suspect, but the android suddenly becomes the key to a shocking clue.

Andrew understands that he is able to reincarnate as a person, but it is difficult to fulfill a dream if the transformation is hindered by the people themselves.

Short Circuit (1986)

Lightning strikes robot #5, and the soulless machine comes to life under the influence of a powerful discharge. The creator of the machine wants to use the development for personal purposes, and the military begins to hunt for a working device. People have yet to face the huge potential for good, which is hidden in the depths of cold metal. The robot categorically rejects the laid down program for destruction and shows real human feelings.
