10 Movies similar to “Wrong Turn”

The first part of the famous horror franchise came out back in 2003, and generated a whole army of fans. In total, as many as 6 parts of the series came out, and this made the film producers think about it and start releasing horror films similar to Wrong Turn in large numbers.

All of them are united by a similar plot and the same similar development of the plot. Heroes can be killed both by classic representatives of the genre – feral cannibals, and ordinary local crazy people, which are in any outback. Below is a list of movies similar to Wrong Turn.

Hills Have Eyes (2006)

There are 2 parts of this film, but we will consider the canonical first, which is as similar as possible to Wrong Turn. The Carter family surfs the desert and learns at a gas station that there is a short cut through an abandoned area where nuclear tests were once carried out.

According to the tanker, not all people agreed to move from their homes for the time of testing, but went to the mountains and abandoned mines. Having missed the whole essence of the story, the heroes boldly move through the abandoned territories, until they unexpectedly get into an accident, which, as it turned out, was set up by a mutant named Lizard.

And these spirits will appear to him by no means to joke, but to make his life a living nightmare. Ruins (2008)

This Wrong Turn-type horror movie is unexpectedly produced by comedian Ben Stiller. The company of young, but very playful people is tired of sunbathing on the beach, and they all accept the invitation of a local resident to go on an excursion to the ancient Mayan pyramid.

The construction, according to the legends of local residents, is cursed, so it’s better not to step there. However, such trifles do not stop cheerful and lively guys. Having entered into a serious skirmish with the locals, the company manages to climb to the top of the pyramid. Here they discover traces of a scientific expedition, and in the mine – a mobile phone rings. The daredevils decide to definitely explore the mine and figure it all out.

Descent (2005)

In total, 2 parts of the series came out, and all of them are films like Wrong Turn. Young extreme girls decide to go to the mountains for the weekend and explore one intriguing cave. Having descended to the bottom, they discover a passage that leads to previously unexplored cave territories.

The girls manage to get into the passage, but it collapses, cutting off all escape routes. In addition, it turns out that the leader of the group at the last moment decided to explore the wrong cave, which was discussed earlier. And this means that neither the relatives nor the rescuers know where to look for the girls. Moving deeper and deeper, the heroines begin to realize that they are not alone here.

Four guys, celebrating a bachelor party, decide to move from one institution to another. Fortunately, they manage to jump into the car of the last train leaving today. Here they meet two girls, and then they end up at an abandoned station, which was stopped building back in the 70s.

The company seeks to find a way out as quickly as possible, but stumbles upon a gang of scumbags, which kills a policeman right in front of their eyes. The criminals do not need extra witnesses, and they begin to drive young people through the dark and dangerous tunnels of the subway.

Vertigo (2009)
