Melodrama about love at a distance

It’s good when your loved ones are around, but life is complicated and unpredictable. It may so happen that native hearts will be separated by many kilometers or even years. The best films about love at a distance will show whether real feelings can withstand separation.

Cold War (2018)

A complex drama set against the background of post-war events and places, telling about the relationship between two people who are so different, but at the same time they cannot imagine life without each other. Throughout the story, spanning long years, the characters are bred by circumstances, kilometers and countries. But they return to warm up again in the arms of their beloved hands.

What do you think, is it worth filming a sequel, and what should be in it?

This Polish film was highly acclaimed at the Cannes Film Festival, with an 18-minute standing ovation during the credits. The tape is complemented by a wonderful musical accompaniment that helps to understand and carry through a dramatic love story even deeper.

While still schoolchildren , the heroes realized that their long-term relationship is not just friendship, but rather a great and pure feeling. Plans for a joint future immediately appeared, but one evening radically changed everything. And for many years, far from each other, the failed couple keeps their love inside.

Good and positive movie based on the book by Cecilia Ahern “Where the rainbow ends.” Atmospheric landscapes, good music, beautiful actors – all this makes viewing easy and enjoyable.

Immersion (2017)

A melodrama and a thriller in one bottle about the outbreak of love between an agent of British intelligence and a scientist exploring the world of the deep sea. Very little time fell on a close romantic relationship, since they had to disperse thousands of kilometers. But having got into difficult life situations, bordering on mortal danger, the heroes tremblingly keep their feelings.

Despite the mixed reviews from critics, the tape can be watched for the sake of James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander, who played the main roles. Don’t expect a lot of dynamics, but be prepared for the need for serious reflection and immersion in complex emotions.

At the Distance of Love (2010)

The perfect movie about long distance relationships for an evening viewing with friends or a loved one. The melodrama is seasoned with sharp humor, honest emotions and funny moments. The plot revolves around young people who met in a bar, spent several wonderful weeks together and went to different cities. And then difficult attempts begin to preserve the feelings that have arisen.

A light, uncomplicated picture, which is well complemented by the game of Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. It may be difficult to imagine these actors in dramatic roles, but in the comedy genre they feel great.

Even the simplest plot, seasoned with good actors, can become something special. So in this melodrama it is very pleasant to follow the relationship between Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher, whom fate stubbornly pushes towards each other for many years, but sober mind stubbornly fights back.

The plot catches with its lightness, humor, interesting meetings and events. You will not spend a lot of time watching it, but you will have time to recharge with positive for a long time.

The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009)

A film about love at a distance that is calculated not in kilometers, but in years. A melodrama with a fantastic bias tells about two lovers who are connected by a strange disease of the protagonist. Without his own consent, he randomly moves through time, bursting into the life of the character Rachel McAdams at different ages. Sometimes their meetings are long and filled with a happy family life, and sometimes the wife can only wait a long time alone.

A movie that is not forgotten immediately after the credits. After it, it takes some time to put the plot piece by piece in one line, to comprehend what is happening. The aftertaste is sad but good.

10,000 km: Love in the distance (2014)

It is quite possible to maintain at a distance a love that has only recently arisen and burns with expectations of something new and wonderful. And what happens when events separate 10,000 km of people living together for a long time and making joint plans for the rest of their lives? Will modern technology help to keep such a couple during the year spent on different continents?

A difficult story about the struggle between reality and virtuality, love and selfishness in a relationship. A picture from the Spanish director Carlos Marcus-Marset, who devoted more than one of his works to this topic.

Like crazy (2011)

The list will continue with a film about long-distance love that arose between teenagers who could not cope with a long separation. Going their own way, they continued to remember the time spent together. The tape is touching and romantic, the feelings of the characters penetrate to the depths of the soul.

It is interesting that everything was filmed on a Canon 7D camera, more than half of the texts were improvisations of the actors, and the scriptwriters drew the plot, referring to the memories of their youth. Perhaps for these reasons everything turned out so truthfully and sweetly.

Like Crazy

Lake House (2006)

This is already literally a classic among melodramas, but if you haven’t watched, be sure to correct yourself. I like not only the amazing sensuality and attraction of the main characters performed by Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Literally all the scenes of the film are saturated with a slightly sad, but extremely romantic atmosphere.

The picture received a strong response in the souls of the audience, reflected in a very good box office. The plot will also appeal to those who love elements of fantasy, time travel.

Loneliness in the Net (2006)

For dessert, there was a film about love at a distance, based on the sensational novel by the Polish writer Janusz Wisniewski. Most likely, without a previous reading of the book, the plot will seem complicated and confusing, but the tape turned out to be strong, dramatic, causing sadness and even slight confusion.

At the heart of the tape is an Internet communication between two people who live far from each other. It all started with the usual search for a virtual interlocutor on whom you can blame your feelings, and then turned into that very serious feeling that the closest and most understanding person is sitting on the other side of the screen.

Original title:

Cast:
Maria Agero, Szymon Bobrowski, Jacek Borczuch

Poland
