A Discovery of Witches season 3 – when is release date

In 2018, the Sky One TV channel delighted fans of mystical themes with the release of the serial project The Discovery of Witches. The project is based on the eponymous series of novels by Deborah Harkness and tells about the friendship of a young witch and a vampire. Heroes live in the modern world and resist the evil that threatens not only the representatives of the other world but also ordinary people.

The success of the first season allowed the channel to immediately order two seasons, while the third will be the final one for the project. In December 2021, a trailer was released that said that the release date of season 3 of the Discovery of the Witches series will take place on January 7, 2022.

In the center of the story is a girl named Diana. She works as a historian and spends a lot of time sorting through ancient archives. An old manuscript falls into the hands of the heroine, which leads her to think about magic and the content of important information. She decides to decipher it, which leads to an acquaintance with the geneticist Matthew. The guy volunteers to help and later confesses that he is a vampire.

The heroine, in turn, comes from a clan of witches, but the fact of the enmity of the two types does not prevent the couple from jointly deciding to save the book from dark forces, since important and dangerous information is hidden in it. The adventures of the heroes will end in the third season, whose release date is scheduled for January 7, 2022.

In the second season, viewers watched the adventures of the heroes in Victorian England, where they managed to go due to the persecution of the extremely dangerous wizard Peter Knox. As events unfolded, the feelings of the heroes were tested, which led to the girl’s pregnancy. In the final series, the characters returned to the present, where Knox awaits them again, but now the heroes have serious patrons and defenders. The release date for season 3 of the Discovery of the Witches series is scheduled for January 7, 2022.

The author of the project was Blackburn Farren, the key roles in the show were played by Matthew Goode and Teresa Palmer. From the presented trailer, viewers saw the appearance of new characters in the show. The author of the original trilogy, Deborah Harkness, said that she took an active part in the adaptation and approved a number of script changes.

It is worth knowing that the literary series also has a fourth book, which is a separate but related story, but its adaptation is not planned, although the author of the series does not deny this possibility in the future. The show will be released on January 7, 2022.
