Flowers in the Attic: The Origin – when is the release date?

In 2014, Lifetime presented the film Flowers in the Attic, based on a series of novels by popular author Virginia Andrews. The picture received warm reviews and interested many viewers, causing fierce controversy because of the themes of incest, domestic violence, and other taboo phenomena raised in it. In 2020, it became known that the TV channel is ready to continue the story and is preparing to present a prequel, which tells about the origin of the main character of the film. The release date of the series Flowers in the Attic: Origins is scheduled for July 9, 2022. The lead roles are performed by Jemima Roper and Max Irons.

The original story introduces viewers to a family consisting of two parents and their children Carrie and Corrie. Because of the tragic death of their father, the children and their mother are forced to go to live with the woman’s parents, although she previously claimed that they had long ago died. It is later discovered that the children’s mother and father are cousins and their connection to the woman’s subsequent escape led to the woman being abandoned by her family. Years later, this sin was forgiven and Corrine returns with the children to the shelter of her mother, Olivia.

Their austere grandmother gives the children a room in the attic, where they soon find themselves unvisited by their mother, infatuated with a new suitor. The sequel tells the story of Olivia and the events that influenced her formation, making her a cruel and ruthless person. The series release date is July 9, 2022.

The upcoming novel is about Olivia at a young age. Having a noble background and famous beauty, the girl is not deprived of the attention of numerous suitors, but showing natural wit, she waits for the best proposal, which is marriage to Malcolm Foxworth. This is a handsome and intelligent man, the owner of an incredible fortune, which bribes the girl. Becoming the young wife of a businessman, the heroine arrives at his family home, where she will soon have to realize that her hopes for a fabulous life are in vain. The girl realizes that her husband is hiding something, and he especially doesn’t like her attempts to get into the attic. Seizing a moment, Olivia manages to sneak into the room of interest, where she finds young prisoners here against their will. Attempts to accuse her husband of kidnapping lead to the fact that the heroine is put in conditions under which she is forced not only to keep silent but also to indulge her husband in his perverted hobbies.
