Locke & Key season 3 – when is release date?

In 2010, it became known that Fox was interested in an adaptation of the comic book Locke & Key, created by writer Joe Hill, son of Stephen King. The project resulted in the shooting of a pilot episode, which the executives of the channel did not like. The project was shut down, but in 2014 Universal Pictures expressed a desire to make its three-movie adaptation, which also failed to continue.

In 2019, Netflix became interested in comic books. The first season of the show came out in 2020 and received recognition from viewers, which was the reason for extending the project. The plot in the series unfolds around the Locke family. Father of three Randall Locke dies at the hands of apprentice Sam Lesser, who is possessed by demons. After the tragic story, his wife takes Tyler, Kinsey, and Bodie back to the family home, hoping to make a fresh start and forget about her husband’s death. But Sam continues to haunt the family. The children’s struggle with Sam and the otherworldly monsters will continue to be told by Locke & Key in season three, with a release date in 2022.

Once in the house, the children explore their new home and find mysterious keys. Each one gives the child a certain gift, which the teens later use to fight their father’s killer. At the same time, these same powers can finally release the demons imprisoned in Sam or help to destroy them. In the first season, the heroes managed to fight off Sam, but the second season showed that the demons are not ready to just give up and are preparing to strike again, but through other people obsessed with them. Details about the third season are not disclosed, but there is a possibility that the series will have new characters. The release date for season 3 of Locke’s Keys is 2022.

Season 3 will continue to be produced by Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill, who authored the first seasons. Along with the announcement of the series’ continuation for a third season, it has become known that both producers have signed a long-term contract with Netflix. This could indicate plans for the service to develop Locke’s Keys for a long time, or the creative alliance will shoot another project for Netflix.
