Paper Girls – when is the release date?

In 2020, it was revealed that Amazon Prime Video had approved the development of a series based on the comic book Paper Girls, which was published by Image Comics from 2015 to 2019. It was co-written by Brian Keller Wong and Cliff Chang, the former known for Y: The Last Man on Earth, whose adaptation recently failed miserably. At the center of the new sci-fi series is a foursome of girls aged twelve. They work as newspaper delivery girls and go to work after a Halloween party in the morning, finding themselves in the middle of a battle between two teams of time travelers. This leads to the girls being transported from the year 80 to 2019, where they meet their adult versions. They see that the world has not changed for the better and find themselves faced with a difficult choice – to accept reality or try to change it. What the heroines will choose will be revealed upon the show’s release, with a release date of July 29, 2022.

The girls learn that they can try to go back in time and forget what happened, which will lead them to the seen future or they can try to change something, but then going home will be in jeopardy. The girls choose the second path, which leads them to wander through different times and meet different versions of themselves, influenced by their actions in the past. The authors of the series said that in their show they do not plan to strictly adhere to the original and many scenes will be expanded and supplemented. The performers of the roles in the novelty of Amazon are young and little-known actresses. It is interesting that in the original, all four girls are lesbians, and given the minority age of the characters, the project has already found some opponents.
