Reacher on Amazon release date

The writer Lee Child, who wrote the literary series about Reacher, which became the main one for the films, noted that he was initially not happy with the leading actor Tom Cruise, as the actor was too short for the key character.

In 2020, it became known that the rights to the books were bought by the Amazon service and it is launching a series based on the work. He is not affiliated with the films and has a new cast. In 2021, a trailer for the project was released and it became known that the release date of the Reacher series was February 4, 2022. The show is scheduled to be an Amazon Prime exclusive.

Nick Santora became the director of the new project. The director shared information that the series was based on the first book about Reacher – Death Floor, released in 1997. According to the plot, the story revolves around a former military police officer. For some unknown reason, Reacher arrives in a small provincial town, where they decide to make him the scapegoat in the mysterious story of the murder of a local musician. The man ends up in prison, where his escorts do not want to hear about the hero’s impeccable military service. Reacher realizes that this is not an accident and decides to prove his own innocence and solve the case. The series release day will be on February 4, 2022.

In full-length films, the main role went to Tom Cruise, which left the author of the books dissatisfied. The novelty is played by Alan Ritchson, he is known for the DC TV series Titans. According to the author of the literary source, the new performer is better suited for the role, since this is exactly how the hero was conceived – more brutal than cunning and dexterous, which he turns out to be in reality, which makes his opponents underestimate the hero.
