The Winchesters – when is the release date?

In 2005, The CW launched Supernatural, an incredibly popular series that ran for 15 seasons until 2020. The project was so beloved by viewers and creators that even at the time of its release the authors talked about launching sequels and prequels, but attempts to make branches have not been successful, so the show Pedigree and Prodigal Sisters never launched.

Immediately after the series ended, there were reports that a prequel about the parents of the main characters would be aired. This became known in 2021, and The CW officially ordered a pilot in February 2022. It is directed by Jensen Ackles, who played one of the main roles in the original. The actor revealed that the Winchester series’ release date is set for October 11, 2022.

The original story introduces viewers to brothers Sam and Dean, engaged in a family business – hunting supernatural creatures. The boys lost their parents, and while their father tentatively succeeded in teaching them the craft, their mother died in the boys’ early childhood, and her death is shrouded in mystery. As the plot develops, it is revealed that the girl died because of a certain demon, which the brothers will later avenge, and after a while, another truth will be revealed – the heroes’ mother together with their father were engaged in hunting demons, which led to her death. The new series will be a prequel and will tell the story of John and Mary’s relationship. The show’s release date is set for October 11, 2022.

The Winchester series will touch on the characters’ younger years. John returns to his hometown after the Vietnam War, where he begins to learn about his father’s secrets. He was a member of a certain secret organization, and when John manages to get to its meeting, he meets young Mary. The girl tells his newfound acquaintance of an old war with the representatives of the otherworld, but John has recently returned from real war, John does not believe her, however, soon he will change his outlook on life. The Winchester series will be released in the fall of 2022.

In the trailer presented for the series, viewers saw the first minutes of the show, where John meets Mary. The voiceover told the story of Sam and Dim’s parents. The new project was directed by Jensen Ackles and his own wife Danielle. Jake Roger and Meg Donnelly are cast in the novelty roles. It is possible that Ackles’ character will appear in the novelty as a voiceover recounting the events in a flashback format. The show’s release date is October 11, 2022.
