Tulsa King – when is the release date?

In 2021, Paramount+ announced the start of work on a new crime series starring Sylvester Stallone. The series is planned as a crime drama, where the popular actor will have to embody a former Italian Mafia boss exiled to Tulsa. The release date of the series Tulsa King is scheduled for November 13, 2022.

Taylor Sheridan, known for Yellowstone and other acclaimed pictures, was the author of the project, and the author of Wolf of Wall Street worked on the script. According to the director, the idea for the series came to him during the pandemic. For a couple of days, the author managed to think through the concept of the show and get consent to shoot Stallone in it. This is the first television work of a famous actor. Previously, he was filmed exclusively for big screens.

The plot in the new series King of Tulsa tells about a man named Dwight “General” Manfredi. He is one of the high-ranking members of the mafia but was sentenced to 25 years. The hero has served his entire sentence, but upon his return learns that he is being sent to Tulsa, where the man’s job is to build a new business. The general realizes that his assignment is an exile, as the top mafia don’t trust him, given the length of his time in prison. The man decides that he needs to look out for his own interests and begins building his own organization. The show’s release date is November 13, 2022.

Originally the novelty was called Kansas City, but in the course of development, the action was moved to Tulsa, which led to a change of naming. According to the plot, the hero is faced with the fact that the place of his exile is not suitable for the development of business there, much less criminal. Gradually a group of different people gathers around the General, not capable of doing serious business at first glance, but this team will help the hero to succeed. Taylor Sheridan said that right after the idea for the project, he thought that the best option for the lead role would be Sylvester Stallone and wrote the script for the first issue specifically for the actor. It took two days, and Stallone was immediately interested in the offer. Sheridan also noted that his busy schedule prevented him from personally developing the episodes, so they were written by hired writers. This is the first time in his career that he has worked on someone else’s material. That said, Sheridan notes that he is completely happy with it.
