On April 11, HBO TV channel presented the trailer of the new crime series with John Bernthal in the leading role. The producers of the novelty were the authors of the acclaimed The Wire, and the series is based on the book with the same name, created by a journalist from The Baltimore Sun newspaper. It is a documentary about Baltimore police corruption and the consequences of abuse of power. Viewers can expect six episodes in the new series and it is planned as a mini-series, which means no sequel is expected. The series’ We Own This City release date will be April 25, 2022. The show will air on HBO and HBO Max.

The plot of the new crime drama revolves around Baltimore police officers. At one precinct, a new gun-trafficking unit is formed. Sergeant Jenkins is put in charge of it. Under his command, the squad solves complex crimes and earns “points” in every possible way. The media trumpeted the arrival of order in the city, but more and more often the new squad is criticized, arguing that the police abuse their power. They conduct illegal searches, plant drugs to boost detection, and at the same time often steal money from arrested drug dealers. The city’s ruling officials, however, prefer to ignore the reports, believing it to be a necessary evil that promotes the flourishing of the good. The show’s release date is April 25, 2022.
What do you think, is it worth filming a sequel, and what should be in it?
The situation changes dramatically when, after another questionable arrest, a suspect mysteriously dies in the police station where Jenkins’ subordinates have taken him. The cops try to keep the case quiet, but the public demands an explanation, which leads to riots and clashes between law enforcement officers and ordinary people. The Justice Department is forced to investigate, which leads to numerous accusations and arrests of police officers. Meanwhile, the scandal gathers momentum as a witness who agreed to testify against the corrupt cops dies during the investigation. The release date of the series We Own This City is set for April 25, 2022.
The new HBO series is a crime drama, but it is also an exploration of what the abuse of power leads to. The lead role in the series goes to John Bernthal, but the novelty has a very wide cast with many primary and secondary characters. The show’s release date is April 25, 2022.
